Thornton Strolia
I’m a 3D artist focused on product and lifestyle imagery. My work brings together look development, materials, lighting, and composition to give everyday objects a clear sense of character and place.
I started learning computer animation in 2009, with Blender as my first tool. That curiosity led to a bachelor’s degree in computer animation in 2017, where I focused my studies on look development. I’ve worked freelance on and off since 2014 and spent around seven years working full time in the field.
Approach
I’m interested in the details that make an image feel convincing: the way a highlight moves across a surface, the scale of a texture, and the relationship between an object and its surroundings.
Workflow
My workflow combines roughly a decade of experience in Maya with three years in Houdini, built around a USD pipeline.
